Masks

Between you and me Your thoughts and my feelings My loves and your passions Your fears and my apprehensions Your friends and my dears Is there any connection? I fathom deep within and You search your mind No, nothing seems to merge and unite Between you and me there are puzzling divides we know, how hard we tried to merge and unite but never did we lose our core and we remained ever on parallel shores Between you and me we know, the faces that are real are so difficult to bear so we found a way to survive now, we don our masks so tight that all differences between you and me seem so surreal and light.
