Mask
As my feet hit the ground,
Moment in place,
Alarm clocks buzzing,
In distant space.
I step into watery heat,
Ambrosia surrounds me,
My soul reels in retreat,
She overwhelms me.
Slumber washes down the drain,
With memories of the past,
A slow release of my pain,
Peeling off my tight mask.
Merging ribbons of grey,
Forbidden lust within me,
For I begin every day,
Wishing my lover completes me.
I seek desperately,
My passion, love, pride,
Seeking council from thee,
Though in shadow you hide.
My words echo from the night,
I please should you ask,
Unraveling my lover's plight,
From beneath my black mask.
