Martha And Mary

As human, with humans, like milk with water, you mingled. In you, love for anyone and anywhere got kindled. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus were your friends and neighbours. They from you, and you from them, bestowed and received favours. As a sister to a brother, Martha brought you complaints. Mary was busy with immortal matters like the saints. Tell Mary to reach out to me in my work, Martha said. Mary has chosen the best; you said, Let her go ahead. Meals, conversations, and times of joys and sorrows you shared For each of their feelings, as though a close comrade you cared Sparks of celestial graces engulfed them in your presence. As though innocent children, there's no self-complacence. With contemplation and action, life, death, and rising flew In your words, deeds, and actions, breezes of compassion blew.
