Marionette

Marionette Never locked The door is open pet me, untangle me Twistin’ and gropin’ Positioned, the curtains rise Pull I stand, proud Push I sit, shy Tug here… My hands raise You open my mouth to praise Jiggle that string I walk away Stop and still, and I stay Manipulation Control Inside Hollow Eyes don't see Ears don't hear Close the curtain I'm not here

Crystal, that's an interesting idea, and worded so well. I think of it as about a human that's like a puppet, rather than vice-versa, and the last 6 lines are kind of chilling.

This is a fun and serious look from a unique point of view. You show that it's not always pleasant to have your strings pulled; I wonder if a puppet ever knows?
