Marilyn

Marilyn

I stand here in Heaven now
Looking down at the World I knew
Marilyn, my dear friend for so long
You were the Gift that grew and grew

Nothing was too much for you
Your love and friendship kept me sane
No matter what the situation was
You found a way to help the pain

And as I lay there in that bed
Month after month going by
You came to see me every day
You helped and always smiled

Even when I lost my way
Almost gave up on my Faith
You brought me flowers to cheer me up
And remind me of God's Grace

I may not have understood
The Part He had for my Life
But now that I'm on the other side
I can laugh and feel the Light

We humans certainly don't have the answers
We fail and fall but keep on trying each day
We believe and hold Hope like a fragile thing
Not always able to fathom its Powerful ways

For all the traumas and the challenges
The triumphs and the tears
I am ever grateful for it all
Especially with you to calm my fears

Thank you for being there for me
Thank you for being an Angel from Heaven
Thank you for your kindness and support
Thank you for every blessing

In time we'll meet again up here
I'll show you my favourite places
God and His Angels give us Love
They show us Mercy and Grace

And yes, I stand here in Heaven now
I never want to lie down again
I am humbled and blessed to have known you
Oh, Marilyn, my dearest friend
