Maple Queen

Maple in red wears her mantle with ease, Ravishing crown with geranium sheen. Teasingly tossing her mane in the breeze, Spring until autumn she's dressed like a queen! Ravishing crown with geranium sheen, Swishing in whispering florid attire, Spring until autumn she's dressed like a queen, Sunlight does kiss scarlet petals afire. Swishing in whispering florid attire, She's lofty, saucy and flaunts savoir-faire. Sunlight does kiss scarlet petals afire, Her pageantry fits her Majesty's flair! She's lofty, saucy and flaunts savoir-faire, Teasingly tossing her mane in the breeze, Her pageantry fits her Majesty's flair, Maple in red wears her mantle with ease. Susan Ashley July 15, 2017

I am so pleased you enjoyed this poem, John, it was inspired by my neighbor's grand red maple looking just so beautifully majestic in the sunset of a summer's eve. This was one of those poems that my pen couldn't write fast enough (..if only that could happened more often! Lol!) I relish your inspiring comments, my dear friend. Thank you. Warmest wishes to you, the pantoum princess :)

This poem is adorned in beautiful imagery, rhyme and personification, Susan. Maple trees are renowned for their leaf colour, and you highlight this with utmost ease. You could easily become a Pantoum Queen:) ~ Warm regards // paul

Hi Justin, thank so very much for the visit and for reading and commenting on my poem! I love pantoum because of the repetition of lines, how it goes two steps forward, one step back kind of thing... anyway, I would love to read one by you someday. I just posted another pantoum tonight called Rapture, please check it out and tell me what you think. Again, many thanks :)
