Many People Think
Many people think in a way
That’s not how it used to be
Instead of working and trying hard
Its “why did you do this to me?”
“It's not fair and its all due
to the color of my skin
The only way it would be fair
Is if you let me win”
“I shouldn’t have to work at all
For anything in this life
Because so many years ago
Your s caused my ancestors strife”
“Give me everything that I want
And then give a little bit more
I will take it all and then ask
But when will you even the score?”
“Why do you hate me so
And judge me for what I do
Crime going without punishment
As long as it it me against you”
Why can't I go poke the bear
And then say it's all for fun
But when the bear strikes back at me
expect sympathy from everyone?”
What happened to the day when
character is what truly mattered
The idea of working for your dreams
Is a value that has now been shattered
Being a good person has
Become a thing of the past
All I can do is shake my head
And hope it doesn’t last.
