Many, Many Long Years Ago

The day I went out, you all smiled "Welcome my sweet, my precious child!" Tired, still you rocked me to and fro Many, many long years ago "What's that?" I'd ask innocently You'd smile and answer patiently All things I asked you seemed to know Many, many long years ago My peers and pressures took their toll Got out of hand, lost all control You picked me up and helped me grow Many, many long years ago Now all alone, independent Lived life that's great and resplendent In my hands was you in photo Many, many long years ago

Thank you. For a fraction of a moment, I could feel how I felt, many many long years ago...at the table with Grandma. She would sit, and talk and I would make the cookies. I was grown up at 10 and could handle it. lol... Forgot the sugar. Great-grandma was there that particular day. She took them all. Said they were the best biscuits she had ever had. :)

oh wow, this looks very much like kyrielle style poetry. I need to check out that contest and get the details. Well done, and good luck in the contest. As long as you follow the rules, she is a nice judge who shows off all those who made the effort to write a decent poem!
