Mantra Whispers

Lightest silver I ever did feel, a precious heirloom that owns God's seal
it was gifted from a night table, but given from heaven from my dad
He found his place among stars and angels, with wings of solid teal
I know that I will never forget him nor his lessons of joy then sad
He was my father on earth, during this journey of transitional wheel

I know that I can be a better man if I claim my place among the few
watch the throngs of movie pushers fight for honor and prestige
And when my time will come to shine I will do it with a humble crew
she will be there by my side rejoicing with dance like a dervish dirge
I will love the moment but I will not get lost in accolades of YOU ***

Light as silver this rosary that father bequeathed without a single word
it was taken from his nightstand a memory of his sad and broken story
Still we had moments of pure bliss, still we lived aside truth n' sword
we were so different him and I, there were days I never got the glory
still he was my dad, and I am sad he is gone, and that is my story

Silver moments watching mom struggle with her loss, she just rolls
truffles of peaceful moments, she breathes as she ties loose ends
Days go by, I feel the world is righting for our grief stricken souls
Bead upon bead mantra whispers as I try to make amends
so on so forth I go in, not knowing what is around the bend

The End.
Written for my Adam, with love, Mom

What a tribute to your son. And the poem was written in quite a difficult form. I'm sure your Adam will appreciate it. Hugs.

Sometimes it seems like grief will last forever. But we deal with it... some better than others. Very thoughtful piece. Tomorrow is another day. Have a good one.
