Man's Best Friend
For sixteen years my best friend was my dog,
a tad bit gassy and quite the bed hog.
Side by side, was everywhere we would go,
my partner in crime, his name was Cujo.
He had a bladder the size of a dime,
but he showed me his love, all of the time.
With those crooked teeth he packed quite a bite,
and he cuddled by my side every night.
Every morning as I slowly woke up,
I would be greeted by this loving pup.
At the end of night in a bed of hair,
I always thanked God that he was still there.
With the winds of change I now shed a tear,
as I reach out, and he’s no longer here.
