Manna For Morons

Television is such a bore.
If anything that kills brain cells
The TV is the number one
Cause of permanent brain damage.
Between the ridiculously
Lengthy commercials, reruns and
The misnomer: “situation
Comedy” with its canned laughter,
A viewers IQ can drop five
Points, perhaps more after sixty
Minutes of exposure, truly!
We have all become a nation
Of clones: It tells us what to buy,
What’s best to view and when to laugh.

Do you feel rundown?

Some of today's sitcoms are so boring and inane. But looking back, I always had some good laughs watching the Lucy reruns and Seinfeld was in a class of its own. Nice commentary in your poem, Albert, and the title is a hoot! Love, Carolyn

I really liked your poem, because I feel the same way. I wish we didn't even have a t.v. but my family looks at me as if I am from another planet. No T.V. How would we live? haha. At least sitting in front of this screen cause me to think!!!
