Man Versus Beast

Nary one lizard is curious about trains
Nor are kangaroos hopping mad about Ukraine

No wombat worries about crime in New York
And even pigs are unconcerned about shortages of pork

Name me one rhino who’s learned how to cook
  Or a hippo who’s written a book

Even dolphins don’t go golfin,’ and
The only Tiger on the links is a Woods

Fragile physically though we humans may be
We want to know what goes on globally

Thus you have beautifully enumerated the difference between beasts and men...... A fun read that I enjoyed much !

(chuckling) This poem is rather important for everyone, gw. It is true. And, sometimes, I wonder if we are too wrapped up "globally," while things here at home need more attention. Like, for example, we need to stop this interparty squabbling!
