The bow that bridges heaven

and overtops the trees

and builds a road from earth to sky

Is prettier far than these!

Christina Rossetti

Tiny minuscule alleys lined by avid cells, Working unceasingly to serve a life event, Millions of cilia sweep in unison to trap dust, With every breath, air flows to the alveoles! A red tiny life raft just a micron wide cell, Ferries oxygen to tissues sailing at speed, retina a miracle screen at the back of eye, Takes photos the best camera cannot rebel! A code deep in human DNA is what compels, A tiny heart to start its beat inside fetus, And beats non stop powered by life itself, What human made pump is the heart equal? perfection of nature’s creation has no parallel, best of man’s achievements can make no dent, into what nature makes and makes so well!! well, no wonder you write like this. I just learned you are a doctor!! Thanks for this poem and for your service, especially in this scary time where doctors and nurses are getting sick too from the virus.

Thanks Andrea! Very kind words! Yes, I am at the thick of it and have to dive in so others may live. Fortunately I am in good health and would fight of any infection I may get!

Thanks Michelle! Always a great fan of Rossetti and the simplicity with she conveyed great thoughts! I was tempted to expand on her ideas.
