Man In Blue

Always respect the men in blue
It was never an issue, until I met you
Respect the badge, just like the flag
It’s just what we knew to do

But then you came along
And proved our theory, wrong
Humility died and filled you with pride
One by one, the lies piled on

You portrayed yourself, a friend
Helping hands, you would extend
But once we learned, you let it burn
You’d kill your own kin to win

We have now become your prey
Since learning your wicked ways
Narcissistic, you depict it
Beneath the honor, you display

A frightening day and time
When those, out fighting crime
Are forming tribes and making bribes
While we must walk the line

Why don't we have those in powerful positions take a mandatory psychological exam, every year to keep their jobs like, they mandate physicals? I always wondered why put a service revolver in someone's hands if you don't know how well they are psychologically? Well done.
