Mama Doesn'T Have Any Feet

Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees My mother was such a nurturing woman had three sons but no daughters She was only five foot two red hair big hips build like a Texan She would pray in the morning dawn if she could she'd pray all day long Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Would go to church and be there before the deacon and the pastor And then stay there until everyone left, yes after Before food we would wash our hands stand before the table fold hands We would sing those glory songs, about the righteousness of Jesus and God Sit down then daddy would sing the chorus He has such a beautiful voice oh, yes Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama would pray for you she'd pray for me' she'd pray for everyone she'd see Mama would pray for peace and people Pray for those in and outside of the steeple Now daddy got sick then he died, I looked at mom why didn't she cry She told me son your daddy's gone away from here went back home to heaven Yes! he's gone back to glory where he belongs With the Father and Jesus to reside inside them mansions in the skies Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees She mama holds her hands and her head up she has no regrets left Nothing gets her down or makes her frown Mama got a permanent smile Now her prayers for the government she knows just where her real help is And now I hope to be just as smart as to have the Lord Jesus in my mine and heart Mama would pray all the day long from late, late evening till early dawn Mama doesn't have any feet, everytime I've seen her she's down on her knees 02/19/15 written by James Edward Lee Sr.
