Mama 2014

The first face I saw
Full of love and support
Now whatever I do
I always fall short

Things were splendid
There for a while
Consistent and accountable
Single file

Anger and resentment
I can hear it in her voice
Not very promising
The chance of rejoice

I too, feel bitterness
And rage
I keep it inside
I act my age

The words clearly state
Turn the other cheek
But how would she know
Spiritually weak

Never spoke of his name
When I was small
Needless to say
I hit a brick wall

I don't point my finger
I could never blame
She is the one
Missing out
On the flame

A spark of excitement
A reason to live
Happiness and joy
The desire to give

I want this for her too
I want her to thrive
Salvation and bliss
Feeling alive

She is lost in depression
Can't seem to break free
Consumed with anger
Blames it on me
