Mallard On the Lake

Mallard duck on the lake,
green on your neck,
such a fine one you
are Mr. drake.

With all of these geese
on the lake, you do stand out,
many people treat you mean,
so many times they do tease.

Such a beautiful one you are,
bells are ringing,
so must leave now and
go back to my car.

Hi James - I work the Rice harvest here every year during the migration season - geese by the thousands seek refuge in the flooded rice patties after the field has been harvested and re-flooded - They are beautiful - Blessings James
