Malicious Intent

frail and innocent
she let her defences down
enticed by glib words...
now, like a crypto virus,
he holds her heart to ransom.

I have a feeling that it has not, as yet, been judged. Sorry you have to keep searching for 'unseen' poems; it's time for Soup to install something (like on twitter) to let us know which poems we have clicked on or not. Regards // paul

Oh this is sad and manipulative tanka. So true of a lot unsuspecting women - you have certainly unraveled a plot in five lines - All the best for the contest - You certainly deserve to win. A FAVE from me ...Maria

Ohhh how insidiously this cad operates, Paul. The contrast in motivations between the 'she' and the 'he' in your poem is striking, like white/black. I love the use of the term 'crypto virus', it lends such strong dark imagery to your last two lines. Your excellent write certainly lives up to its wonderfully perfect title :) Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

Love your reaction, Rhonda:) This was inspired by the CryptoLocker ransomware attack that caused lots of headaches some 3 years ago. Thank you for the faith you put in it. Regards // paul
