Listen to poem:

Making My Bed

Here I am waiting
Just waiting
Sit or stand
All i have planned
Is to be waiting
Waiting for my phone to ring
Waiting to hear anything
Waiting for your voice to finally say
Waiting for your voice to finally say
If you'll come to me….or stay

How did I allow this to happen?
I can see my friends, in my minds eye,
slow clappin’
Oh great work girl, they'd say, you've done it this time
Fell for his lies and all his lines
lived up to their low expectations
A bad man with a worse reputation
Well now you can sleep in the bed you been making after all the love you've made and he's taken
And I will just keep on waitin’, yes just keep waiting

Did you truly believe you'd be
the one whose story ends differently?
Oh no you're still waiting
Waiting for him to keep his word
Waiting for this life to stop flipping you the bird
Yea waiting for your next play
Will you come to me…or stay?

How did I allow this to happen?
I can see my friends, in my minds eye,
slow clappin’
Oh great work girl, they'd say, you've done it this time
Fell for his lies and all his lines
lived up to their low expectations
A bad man with a worse reputation
Well now you can sleep in the bed you been making after all the love you've made and he's taken
And I will just keep on waitin’, yes just keep waiting

Can I offer some little advise
From one who has come to realize
That a man's heart is black as sin
When he holds out his hand, for you to land
, little bird keep on flying high... if his finger shines.
Oh oh go on by if his finger shines

How did I allow this to happen?
I can see my friends, in my minds eye,
slow clappin’
Oh great work girl, they'd say, you've done it this time
Fell for his lies and all his lines
lived up to their low expectations
A bad man with a worse reputation
Well now you can sleep in the bed you been making after all the love you've made and he's taken
And I will just keep on waitin’, yes just keep waiting

Dear Crystol, wow. Loved the song. This is so raw and brutally honest. That painful loop of just waiting is something we've all felt. But I love that inner voice giving the "slow clappin'" commentary! People can be so cruel and hurtful. But I am here to give you Autumn Blessings, My Dear Crystol, Daniel

Thank you, I was going for that feeling we've all been through, whether with a married person or just a person who loved self more than us... it seems we've all had our share of broken hearts. Appreciate you so much Daniel! Blessings back at you! Xo

Oh Praise the Lord this is no longer my life!! Lol! He's taken me from this battered and broken girl to a woman of God, happily married now for 18 years! And yes, he is a good one! Maybe the best one! Thanks Paula! Xo
