Make Your Peace

Bird flu, Sunammi, Earthquakes and War....
Kinda makes ya wonder how much longer we are here for
Political MESS, Health care not the best
This journey is looking more and more like a QUEST
I fear for the kids left with the trash
Not even their fault, but they will suffer the wrath
Some choose not to acknowledge the darkness ahead
While others try to enlighten (unsuccessfully) instead
The world (as we know it) is lookin pretty grim to me
Is there a light ? Glimmer of hope? I prey this to be
I would like my kids... and then... their kids due
To be able to grow up and raise families too
I want them to appreciate the simple things in life
House, kids, dog husband and wife
I want them to be respectful and kind
I want them to know when they are falling behind
I don't want them to live in a world full of fear
Not ever knowing if the'll be a "next year"
Could you imagine the panic....if this be true
Think about last minute things you would do
Where would you be? Who'd be by your side?
Could you close your eyes knowing you really have tried?
Make sure your at PEACE with yourself before this
Insist all your good-by's part with a kiss
Cause you never know if you'll see them again
and you'll have comfort knowing you were a good friend
If you know in your heart, your intentions are true
The'll be no reason to quiver ....when your time has come due

                                           JVW/2015

Lovely piece Jackie describing good counsel for future generations. Superbly penned with great rhyme and flow. Have a great day, Gordon
