Make It and Eat It
Snap goes each piece of crisp, dark, pungent chocolate,
Dropping into a glass bowl of smooth, creamy milk chocolate chunks awaiting their magical transformation.
The smooth liquid velvety double cream drizzles like a ribbon into the pan,
As it heats, the surface begins to shimmer invitingly,
Small bubbles appear as it boils and then cools just a little, anticipating the joy to come.
Slowly, a ribbon of hot silky cream trickles over the waiting chocolate pieces
The mixture is stirred inviting the chocolate to melt into the cream
Making a marbled luscious silky, thickened pool.
Strong, pungent, dark freshly brewed coffee drips into the dark tempting pool,
Slowly and deliberately it is incorporated.
After the mixture has tantalised with its deep, rich aroma for an hour I can’t wait any longer!
The mixture has thickened into a thick, gooey, dark tempting mass.
I scoop delicious spoonfuls of the shiny, slightly gooey mixture, rolling each into a ball.
It starts to melt slightly leaving a thick gooey reminder on my fingers,
I look forward to licking it off when I’m finished, extending the treat.
I roll each small, dark, sticky treat into dark, dusty cocoa powder.
Smelling the tantalising aroma of chocolate makes me almost drool in anticipation,
Picking up a single truffle, it starts to melt slightly in the heat of my fingers,
I take my first bite into the soft, silky, smooth, sweet treat savouring how it glides across my tongue.
Boy it tastes good!
