Make Believe
I lose myself in make-believe
A world my own, by mind conceived
Where everything is turned around
What was up, now is down
The sun shines brightly, in the night
Pretty things, give us fright
Who is what and nothing matters
No one lives happily, ever after
From the South, cold winds blow
Weather’s warm, in driving snow
Leaves turn brown, in Springtime air
Mothers worry, without a care
A place where quiet, is obscene
Being nice, is being mean
To tell the truth, is all a lie
Common sense, need not apply
No one wants, yet many need
What kind of place is this indeed
Funny, how the mind wanders
So many answers yet to ponder
Take me back to reality
Continue to drink life's "cup of tea"
Join back in the "ole rat race"
And wonder why I left this place
