Magpie
Merge with me
Together we will be sky.
You the black phoebe
And I the magpie
Primping our faces
And our favourite places
With our feathery youth
Our soft-spoken truth
Knowing for always
That we belong in a song
lock our eyes in avian gaze!
what could be so wrong?
I am half of me and half of you.
And you are too.
By my side, clouds we ride.
Be my man, I be your bride.
Hold me in harmony, tell me all your names.
I feel not forsaken.
In your arms I awaken
To honey pouring morning
Where crows need not croak warnings
There is no danger here.
No hawk or falcon come near
No blight, famine, or fear
just Raleigh scattering
across the horizon
an endless blue
a hopeful hue
love under you.
Merge with me,
We'll be sky
Half of you, half of I.
