Magnitude

The world is twisting and turning under my feet, barely moving yet shaking with power and enormity as if a volcano has just erupted on the shores of a deserted land. I am not sure how I got there but the events that brought me to this place was perhaps part of what would shape my destiny. I could feel it, I could sense it, and I could touch it. I wake up every day with the spirit of hope twirling inside me and substance that shaped the universe scattered all around me. It is as if ambition has driven me to the pinnacle, and my long awaited triumph was drawing near. The nights went by untouched, days unseen and time ticks slowly like a woman running in heels.

                                                                            ©2015 Christine Phillips
