Magnetic Pull
Your touch stopped me in my tracks,
It wasn't based on physical means.
A strong pull that I felt to the max,
I questioned it; we were just teens.
When you said “ I Do” to another girl,
I started to doubt what we had.
A year later, you’d have a son Earl.
Instead of being angry, I was glad.
Our paths crossed many years later,
The pull was still stronger than ever.
But I found out you weren't a dater.
Bad break up and you vowed never.
My heart was all in; I knew the truth,
Eventually, you surrendered to love.
Our bond transpired in our youth,
It's a special gift from up above.
