This reminds me of the one time in my life I felt icy rage; I felt I could coldly destroy it all (luckily it has not happened again, yet)

Maureen, it makes sense to me. Two sides to every coin kind of thing, for me anyway. It makes me think of a lightening strike too with the final line! Thanks for your sample here!

Howdy Maureen. Maybe I'm dumber then I thought, but I don't understand the title; nor understand this poem. Any chance of you explaining this to me? I know I shouldn't ask, but to me it seems like an abstract painting painted in all yellows titled "hateful red", if you know what I mean. What better then to ask the poet herself, because why make a comment either positive or negative if I truly don't know what it means. Is it something Canadian? (as if you speak a different language) jajaja...

They're the cicadas mistakenly called locusts, due to their swarming nature. Their prime numbered gestation periods reduces occurrence of two species emerging the same year. It's the overwhelm the prey method. Up here we get Dogday Cicadas, not a periodical species, they don't swarm.

Wow I did not know the yearly names of cicadas. Learn something everyday; well actually many things. Very cool Maureen. Thanks.

This, one of the rare occasions I can't think of an appropriate title; were it not for my contest, I'd probably call it "poem".

Lol! The title, indicating an exemplar for my latest contest. Magicicada is the genus of 13 & 17 year cicada, Magi, three wise- Cicada, as loud as you can, my idea for a westernized ku form. As for the poem, I sorta suffer from Incredible Hulk disease. Does that make sense? xomo
