Notes About The Poem

Contest: A triolet to make my day. Sponsored by Andrea Dietrich, written 6/17/26. Pic from my flower garden. Syllables checked with howmanysyllables.

Magical Whimsy TRIOLET

A butterfly I chanced to spy.
In all its magical whimsy,
I watched it feed, flutter and fly.
A butterfly I chanced to spy,
sipping flower petals near by.
In colors bold, bright, and fancy,
a butterfly I chanced to spy.
In all its magical whimsy!

Truly this is joyful whimsy, Tania! We get monarch butterflies in our backyard. One landed on me once. I could hardly breath it was such a beautiful moment in time. He stayed for several minutes then flew away looking for nectar. Thank you for reminding of that moment. Blessings!
