Magic Blanket
I have this "Magic" Blanket,
that I've had since long ago.
Why I've kept it all these years,
I'm sure you'd like to know!
I got my "Magic" Blanket,
when I came down with the flu!
It kept me warm and cozy,
like a blankets sposed to do!
The blanket, didn't make me better,
but, I sure felt like it did!
I didn't know, it couldn't have,
cause I was just a kid!
To me, it wasn't the meds that I took,
nor the rest or the TLC,
It had to be my "Magic Blanket,
that drove the flu from me!
Yes - it became my "Magic" Blanket!
It became a part of me!
We slept together every night,
that's the way it had to be!
Things stayed that way, thru high school,
then I had to go away!
I enlisted in the Air Force,
so, "Magic" Blanket had to stay.
Now - I confess, this "Magic" Blanket,
as I'm sure that you can see,
wasn't really "Magic",
to anyone else, but me!
It's the same as other blankets,
which normally, would be true!
But, this ones "kinda special",
after all, it "cured" the flu!
I think if folks could see it now,
here's what they'd likely say,
"You need to chuck that old thing out,
it has seen its better day!
But, that isn't gonna happen!
It just isn't gonna be!
In my Will there'll be instructions
to bury it with me!
