Magenta
I Used To Be A Poet Series, #4
Magenta, written in 2007
Published in my third book, Sunkissed Sapphire
Magenta
To love and not be loved
is the saddest feeling I know
yet I know it well.
Am I condemned
to wandering through
some lonely abyss?
Lonely as Hell.
Dreams are for dreamers
and although some dreams do persist
I don't want to dream them alone
I am a realist.
Realizing my heart.
To love and not be loved
the world takes on a magenta haze
the color of my loneliness
becoming a magenta blaze.
I, myself,
magenta enflamed.
Nothing of the Madonna
nothing to capture the eye.
Rejected, dejected,
in a lonely cavern of emotion,
beneath magenta skies.
