Madness and Civilization

In the end and in the beginning we pray to God that we are winning.
Sometimes life's short, sometimes life's long.
Sometimes we find that life's all wrong.
We're faced with changes that estrange us.
And find ourselves unpopularly famous.

Fading reflections that seal our fate.
Are haunting scenes with destiny's date.
No man escapes the endless fiery.
Of humanity's weight that makes us weary.

So when the winds of change blow in.
And make you pay for all your sin.
As you watch another pass the test.
That you have failed when you tried your best.
There's nothing left for you to do.
But just lay down to your final rest.

For Nathan's Insanity or death contest.

What about all the highly paid creeps in gov't that betray those who put them in office Robert. Methinks our smaller sins might be easier to forgive. What do you think. Your title describes the scene perfectly so bravo for brilliance that describes what we cannot fathom!

I haven't tried this one Robert. Neither choice was very appealing to me. You handled it well however. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for reading and commenting. Yeah my pretty penny was my silly little entry as a kids game for the penny contest. Love, Joyce.
