Madge
We held the hills together
Like a little nub of pencil
Then we fell apart
To write our disparate lives with each broken heart
I read your story in shady nights
Under bare breasted street lights
Fall like a dagger on my thread
Of redemption left leaves rotting here
I knot the pieces of my emotion
Around our innocense so full of dread
That I read and fled
Our beginnings bare as rocks and slippery too
The net got you
Lingering among the fallen ladies
You were swept up tearlessly in the eddies
I remember you always and prayerfully
Wiping your memory with tears
I found in a barren place of lonely beauty
