Made a Promise

Promise to Myself 

I'm making a promise to me 
To be the best I can be 
Give myself a pat on the back 
For keeping myself on track 
No matter what was handed to me 
I took it and stood tall
In the midst of it all 
Have I fallen, yes 
Was it a test 
Did I lose or pass 
It happens so fast 
You are doing great 
You are doing fine 
You are positioning yourself 
To be next in line 
Next in line for amazing endeavors 
You are closing one story and opening another chapter 

I made a promise 
To myself 
That 
Imma get on the right track 
I made a promise 
To myself 
that 
Imma get my life on track 

We all have dreams 
We all have goals ?? 
But we  are in control 
Control of our destiny 
Control of who we let be 
In our life 
With hard work
Comes sacrifice 
Dedication hard work 
As they say, get it out of the mud 
Out of the dirt 
Go head and insert 
Positive affirmations, positive conversations 
With time, that is something we are not wasting 
We are on borrowed time 
We don't have forever 
To get it together ?? 
When times get hard 
They are meant to get better 
Get yourself on track 
I made a promise to get my life back.
