Lying Under Oath

Telling a lie to conceal the truth is a disgrace Everyone knows Trump is the consummate liar, It has been said that he lies mostly to save face But I believe he lies because his tongue is a fire. Like all persistent liars, he cannot help himself Having learned it’s a way to escape any blame For misdeeds he can simply put high on a shelf And deny any culpability because of his fame. It will be very hard for him to testify under oath For, by now, he cannot separate truth from a lie It is a predicament making him particularly loath Lying under oath will give us his final goodbye.

I'm so afraid he will ooze out of it. Elizabeth

Me too, Elizabeth. And, what would that say about the American justice system?

I was raised to believe a man is only as good as his word, and Trump has proven his Oath as President was not worth the wasted breath. Trump lies so easily that a polygraph would be useless. Aloha!

I'm sure you are right about this, Rico. He lies so naturally that I'm not sure a polygraph would pick up on it.

I think lying is some sort of illness, they think if they lie enough people might start to believe them.. Tom

Unfortunately, Tom, many people do believe them.

If only wishes could make it so. I can't see him testifying, subpoenaed or not. It would be a verbal repeat of taking the 5th. He should be questioned while attached to a lie detector. Wouldn't that be interesting except for one fact... He's told the same lies so many times that it could be that he actually believes them.

That's the real rub, Jenna. As I said somewhere else, he lies so naturally that I'm not sure lies would register on his polygraph.

I hope the ending of your poem turns out to be true, Milton! Well said indeed!

Me, too, Ilene! Me, too. How he's gotten by for so long is a mystery to me.
