Notes About The Poem

Lying Reflux

Lie for a reason
Lie for some kind of season
Is this a reflux

Look at those who lie
It becomes part of their speech
Which one of you cares

Have we become numb
These cannot be washed with bleach
Where is the virtue

This freedom of speech
Lying was not the intent
Are we beyond reach

The things that we say
When no one is checking us
Defines who we are

He who chooses truth
Finds the seeds of honesty
Which changes their heart

To be credible
We must be believable
We must be truthful
