Listen to poem:
try as I may to leave the past behind people who were unkind keep running through my mind I don’t know why I can’t let go it’s most unfair they hurt me so I wish I could go back in time and show them their injustice is a crime stories that happened long ago my side they never cared to know never had my chance to sway opinions they preferred to jump to their conclusions in my head we could shake hands and all would be just fine finally gone from my lips would be the taste of bitter wine and people who were most unkind would stop running freely though my mind AP: Honorable Mention 2022 Submitted on May 18, 2021 for contest ALL YOURS (May 20) sponsored by BRIAN STRAND Originally posted on May 17, 2021

I think most of us regret some of our past interactions. I tend to blame myself for not making more of an effort, but there are some acquaintances who make contact with them a drain. Just remember, you have people here who admire and care about you! Hugs, Carolyn

Thanks for your most uplifting message, Carolyn. So true that these people are not worth the time ~ wish I could control it. Hugs xx

Sadly, Line, these kinds of experiences are lingering reminders and do not go away easily. Great poem, my friend.
