Hi Jan, congratulations on your win in Nette's contest. Music does have a life of its own, even when it cannot be played as it once was. A message of hope that shines through melancholy and grief for what once was.

This image really brings out the sense of nostalgia and aging. You took it to a deep place by connecting it to a pianist who can no longer play. Lovely melancholy writing, dear Jan. Congrats on your win ~ John

Jan, you excel at whatever style you write in. Maybe being separated from our dear ones is helping bring out the sadness muse.

Gnarled arthritic fingers and the old broken piano fit each other like a glove, Jan. For many, the only things left are memories. Congratulations on your podium finish. Hugs // paul

I see it at mum;s care home Paul, they have a lady come in once a week to play to them of course its all stopped now but I recall one lady in particular I had seen her with her hands up as though she is playing the piano herself:-( hugs Jan xx

Getting older is not always fun, as things start to deteriorate! Your tender words show how these inevitable changes take place , both in our body and in our brain. Beautifully written Jan. With kindest thoughts Ann xx
