The form of the poem requires four words per line, and each word must rhyme with the line above (with one allowed to change, but that one must rhyme with the line below). No restrictions on number of lines. Luminol is a chemical used to detect bloodstains, it glows and changes color when it detects oxidized material.

The midnight masquerade ball. Seemingly slight brocade shawl. Beseechingly glance, decayed hall. Haunted trance, unafraid fall. Vaunted skies evade all. She tries dissuade call. Decree daylight, unmade, befall.

Wow Heather, what a challenging form to write within! I applaud you for all the thought that went into crafting this tale with its sad ending. The one word title really adds to the gravitas and overall melancholy, as do the the words 'decayed', 'haunted', and 'befall'. Well done!

Thanks! it was really challenging to write in that form, but I had so much fun finding interesting words that would convey the image I wanted. I am glad you noticed!
