Notes About The Poem

Good night dear poets and poetesses! Written May 12 2026

Lullaby Couplet Cry

Fighting fatigue despite my denim day
Muse didn’t leave delighted she stayed

I sit by a fan loving the cool blue breeze
Refusing the pain meds prescribed to me

I feel another nap coming on so strong
Muse keeps encouraging singing along

You can do it write a mahogany piece
But I must delay for I desire silver sleep

Great poem! Very relatable as well. I always thought it was good to turn something we struggle with into beautiful art. I hope you find some decent rest, Karen.

May golden slumbers kiss your eyes, as you sleep for hours in paradise. When you wake up, maybe, you will be comfortable and pain free, back writing poetry. I hope so… Beryl
