Lullaby

The baby’s afraid of being alone
It wants to drift away with a song
A mother’s voice ends its fears
With a soft melody for soft ears
It fixes a curious gaze on its mother
The melody makes it wonder
The eyes blink softly as the mother sings
The mother's face fades away as the baby sleeps
