Lucinda's Prom Date
Lucinda’s Prom Date
By Elton Camp
Lucinda’s an egotistical girl , but a cutie
She has a bad tendency to act too snooty
Bob Akins asked if he might be her date
But him as an escort she didn’t highly rate
Bob knew just what might make her agree
“My father’s big Cadillac he’ll lend to me.”
She thought others so jealous would become
When in a Cadillac she arrived at the prom
Lucinda dressed to the hilt with great delight
To make a glamorous entrance on prom night
When Bob arrived, Lucinda nearly did faint
“Why, Bob, surely your car that one ain’t.”
Bob’s father of the funeral parlor was the owner
A place people were taken when they’re a goner
So Lucinda, her lack of attention began to curse
She would be arriving at the prom in a hearse
