Loyalty
Thinking about the people that remain in our lives.
What's the common denominator?
Loyalty over time, isn't that it?
It doesn't generate a daily happiness,
but a deeper satisfaction, more reserved.
Someone wants to share in our lives,
simply because of who we are.
Knowing where we have been,
That we may never get things right,
or figure ourselves out.
Human.
While we try to find our own versions of elusive happiness,
in those we may encounter,
I'm so glad there are people like you,
that have remained in my life.
Not judging me, who has tried and failed,
but judging only if I stop trying to have a friend,
by being your friend.
