Loyalties

There are no loyalties on Capitol Hill
They learned to worship the dollar bill
A group without ethics or common sense
Destroying our pride and independence
Both parties working together to pass
Laws bringing more to the upper class
Spending freely without worry or care
Reach into our pockets to find more there
An elite club of as-holes and we pay their dues
It doesn’t matter who wins, the people lose
We do need change and retribution
Our loyalties belong to a revolution
Not a term should be repeated
Each incumbent should be defeated
In Washington is there still evil lurking
Why are these CEO’s still working
How can they possibly still be there today
An unemployment check should be their pay
Congress does have loyalties, now that’s a switch
Their loyalties belong to the ultra rich.

So true... 'we're mad as hell, and we're not gonna take it any more!' to paraphrase that line from the movie, 'Network.' BRAVO, Vince!

Vince do me a favor - Read my poem "The Evolution of Learning" - It's two part I think part two would be most interesting to you if you don't want to read them both - It's kind of long - God Bless

Vince this was so true and so well written. The problems are that hard to solve, if they would just put God first and do things his way instead of trying to please all the special groups. and they need to stop being so greedy. thank you for reading my poetry and for your comments.

Amen, brother! This is great. You said it all, I believe...and I don't understand any of it, either. We seem locked into this cycle and unfortunately, none of the people who could truly change it would ever run for president...the true tragedy of our system. Thanks for sharing this! love.t

The CEO's are not working, they are whooping it up at expensive spas and retreats. Good one. Regards Heidie

Vince I just couldn't agree more - I know this if I ever did as lousy a job as they do I would get fired - I don't know what they make but it should be minimum wage - I can't think of a one of them that is worth the lead off the pencil - The one bright side is that when the economy totally crashes at least I know how to hunt, fish, raise my own beef, grow any kind of Garden etc. I doubt it will affect them but I sure hope it does because their to stupid to do anything - Wouldn't they be lost

Smooth flow and perfect rhyme with a true sentiment of the follies we call politics. Excellent my friend. Michael
