Loyal Doormat
The entrance into your life
All innocent and without strife,
I’m good looking and clean
I welcome all, home without a scene,
I’m friendly and open to all,
From 2-4 legs, small to tall.
I get stepped on all over,
Without a complaint or bother.
As my role, I remain loyal,
And treat you like a royal.
I get scuffed up and sometimes a kick,
Without a thought with you I stick.
I accept when it has rained,
Patient until it has drained.
I lay around at home under the sun ray,
waiting for you to come home, all day.
Just to be stepped on again,
but with you I will remain.
I even allow unnecessary pooh,
to be wiped off from your shoe.
Until the day I am replaced,
this is the responsibility in life I have faced.
