Loving You

Sometimes, I wonder why I loved you. Why couldn't I see it? With your eyes so full of hatred, I was beaten, bruised, torn, and bloodied. Gongs a ding dong. I made love to you, out of fear, I scrubbed and cleaned, just to please you. On edge, when I heard your truck. My fear grew, my heart raced. The hairs on my neck stood on end. A black hole in my soul, opened with your touch. Cut off from the ones who loved me, you locked me away, like thieved booty. I could never leave, I had nowhere to go. I was alone. Finally, gathered what was left of my sanity, I left. I trembled as each second passed, wondering if you were following. You lurked in the shadows. You haunted my dreams, the One I loved. Looking back, I wonder... How did I ever love you.
