Lovesick Dues

Heart wrapped in a thousand knots
Befuddled with
How to feel or what to do
All it knows
Is blue

It questions if our love was true
Or just a passing romance
In the Dark Ages
A pain that one day we’ll see
As a way we grew

Time passes begrudgingly
As it consistently tethers to the past
Whilst recognizing the present
As dark and mean
A light of plight

A rosy memory of days
Holding each other
Or time spent on the phone
Are like a hurricane of darkness
Whirling through the mind

As the hours go by
The sun gives way
To a new hope
While the moon still
—its’ arms ‘round a lie
