Love's Vengeance

My love turns to spite when I fail and lose
this game, though the failing is all but mine
a demon from within is let loose
desperate and fierce as one could imagine
the steady rhythm of my pulsating vein
turns restless and a turbulence begins
as my heart seeks revenge for pain
and cares not who loses or wins.
But, sweet love, you are not for me to possess
for the monster turns upon itself and stabs the heart
and gnaws upon the soul; life drains out in a cess
I fall at my own hands, and torn apart
for when I think of your angel face
hatred melts and revenge is helpless.
