Love's The Light

You've shed so many tears, you're drowning; floundering in a sea of sorrow. For focusing on yesterday's woes, suppresses the light of tomorrow. Breaking out of your silken cocoon, you'd hoped to emerge: a butterfly. And after life didn't turn out like that, you convinced yourself love was a lie. Wishes and hopes fuel fantasies garnered from make-believe and pretend. And though you've met a thousand faces, there are so few you can call a friend. Frustrated, as the clock ticks away, your heart feels emptied of all but hope. And struggling with that reality, you're exhausted, and yet you cope. You're like an ebony silhouette emerging from the shadows of Night. And as you open your eyes at Dawn, you'll start to realize: love's the light.
