Love's Magic

Pain will inevitably begin when releasing feelings held within. For pride rebuffs attempts to amend for the sins you stubbornly defend. In a world of shakers and takers, trickery breeds liars and fakers. And flightless Angels, clipped of their wings, attract trouble, and the tears it brings. You insist that you're not like the rest, yet confronting love, you fail its test. And doubt devastates you with despair; letting uncertainty foul the air. Rife with both flattery and deceit, memories are often bittersweet. And you react to the hurt you bear, by bending the truth: beyond repair. Fears that fester in shadow and dream, constantly prey on low self-esteem. And in truth, there's nothing more tragic; than a heart, deprived of love's magic.

Powerful phrases, in particular "In a world of shakers and takers trickery breeds liars and fakers" and "you study love, yet fail every test"

Hello Emile, I haven't forgotten you my friend. I've been in and out of poetry soup from time to time working on prose writes for my second book. "Feelings" is another one of your rhyming master specialties for sure!! The tightness and tautness of your verse, matched with the power and force of you poignant imagery -- all make for a most excellent write!! You last two verse drives home the tragedy you speaking of. Outstanding!! SEVEN/FAV!! Cheers and Best, Gary
