Facing fragile feelings held within, pain will inevitably begin. For; pride rebuffs attempts to amend the sins that you stubbornly defend. In a world of scammers and fakers, trickery breeds liars and takers. And a fledgling spirit clipped of wings attracts trouble; and the tears it brings. Nagging doubts, fill your heart with despair, letting uncertainty foul the air. And believing you're not like the rest, you study love, yet fail every test. Fond memories; oft taste bittersweet, riddled with flattery and deceit, And blind to the jealousy you bear, you contort the truth beyond repair. Fears that lurk within shadow and dream frequently prey on low self-esteem. For in truth, nothing's quite as tragic as a heart bereft of love's magic.

Powerful phrases, in particular "In a world of shakers and takers trickery breeds liars and fakers" and "you study love, yet fail every test"

Hello Emile, I haven't forgotten you my friend. I've been in and out of poetry soup from time to time working on prose writes for my second book. "Feelings" is another one of your rhyming master specialties for sure!! The tightness and tautness of your verse, matched with the power and force of you poignant imagery -- all make for a most excellent write!! You last two verse drives home the tragedy you speaking of. Outstanding!! SEVEN/FAV!! Cheers and Best, Gary
