Love's Heartbreak

My heart was yours,
My love and pride.
Our love was like the ocean,
As steady as the tide.

But my heart was soon forgotten,
The heart that once was yours.
Our tide had reached a stop,
Abandoned on the shore.

What is this feeling,
This ache inside?
For my soul feels broken,
Shattered in a great divide.

My nights turned to sorrow
And my days to rain.
I longed for our love,
For all I felt was pain.

Another love came,
And another love went.
I found a new love,
But my heart is still bent.
