Love's Confession Lingers

It's been twenty years since my last confession, And my confession was about you, A tale of love and silent obsession, The beating of a heart that I once knew. In this my confession, my soul laid bare, I spoke of the yearning, the secret of my desire, The memories of your touch, soft as air, Kindling flames that time could not heal. But fate's cruel hand drove us apart, Leaving echoes of a love unfulfilled, Yet still, you linger within my heart, Like a bittersweet dream forever apart. Now, as the years have slipped away, I confess, my love, I still hold you dear, In the shadows of my thoughts, you stay, a hole that remains unfilled. A cherished memory, eternally clear. In this humble confession, my heart finds release, Though decades have passed, the love remains true, It's been twenty years, but the pain won't cease, For my confession, my dear, is still all about you.
